Quick question for someone intending to use the upcoming CMS feature but wanting to launch a relume hosted site soon: will it be straightforward to add CMS logic after the fact or is there a real benefit to building it out first with CMS? In other words, should I tell my client to push back launch by a week (?) to have CMS built-in from day 1?
Adam M. I had no idea, thanks! Gave it a try and works great! Three questions:
Can an existing static page be turned into a CMS page ? (I had a template for a blog page, can't seem to find a way to convert it into a cms page) - Similarly, it doesn't seem like I have the option to link a text or image element that I add to the CMS page to the cms collection item, or am I missing something?;
Can one edit the CMS fields ? I created a blog CMS page collection and I want to remove the "author" field, can't seem to find a way to edit/delete fields that aren't needed;
In the case of a later export, how are CMS collections exported?
Matt J. maybe has a take on this too ? (I redacted my questions, no rush to respond) 馃檪
not directly no - but you could have AI move the sections from your existing one to the generated CMS template page.
No - we map the data to the component automatically - this is the downside to doing this magic.
Good question - we have no official export but I just asked Claude about it and we do have tools in the Relume Publish MCP to reach the CMS so you could effectively export CMS content and have it molded in any format you need - JSON, CSV, etc.
S茅bastien G. Nick - Product Designer - gave me some roadmap context that addresses your questions as well:
Turning a page into a CMS page - this lands in the next couple of days. You鈥檒l be able to turn an existing blog page into a collection and link it to a template page.
Editing fields - you鈥檒l be able to add, delete and rename fields soon. For now, some fields can be hidden with the eye icon at the top of their column in the CMS, and more ways to hide fields are on the way.
Export - it isn鈥檛 available yet, but it鈥檚 on the roadmap.
