Hello there! I would love to learn how to make Layout 486 relume.ai/components/layout-486, 5 items instead of 4. How do I make and time the animation properly? Thank you!
Sharon H. no worries - here's a previous post on this here: community.relume.io/x/feedback/msg_ePemiXlelqyp/how-to-add-more-items-and-adjust-animation-in-layo If this is unclear or if you run into any blockers - feel free to drop the details here. Make sure that you include a webflow sandbox link - this will be critical in order for me to have full context of what you are trying to do. A loom video would be even better! Happy to help though - so please don't spend a ton of time fighting this if its not going as smoothly as you had hoped, just ping me here.
Hello Matt, thank you for your instructions re: layout 486. I am having troubles setting the animation values, could you kindly help me? Thank you so much! preview.webflow.com/preview/rewritecapitaladvisors?preview=…&pageId=…&…
yeah, I mean there might be, but I wasn't aware of it, and have only really just eyeballed it. Is it working out for you?
It’s roughly there, but I don’t know if there’s anything I can do to make the animation more precise and smooth.
my guess is that we're coming up on the limitations of the webflow interactions themselves - I totally understand what you mean. I wonder if you publish what you have, give it to AI and tell it to remake the animation using the Webflow MCP and the new GSAP interactions, if it would do it better or at least give you finer control once it gets you 80% there like we did with this v1 interaction setup.
Webflow released being able to create native interactions and animations using the Webflow MCP and the new GSAP animation features - so best of both worlds.
and potentially you'd want to go the other way - 40% maybe, not sure
naw sorry, think higher like I had if you want smooth - but basically trying to "smooth" out the input from my mouse, to the animation. So around 80 potentially
but it shifts all of your timings too, so its really kind of finicky which is why I feel like AI + GSAP could probably get you 80% there with the finicky stuff and then you can come in and tweak it. The other issue I see is that each section has different heights. So you are on one hand, trying to create something that is "formulated and consistent" but the actual visual - the content, is not consistent at all. So looking purely at the percentages in your case won't work, which brings me back to doing it by eyeball.
Thank you for being so detail-oriented! I will give it a roll, Matt!
